Eleanor V. Botsford

Eleanor V. (Gehris) Botsford,78, formerly of Ephrata, died May 21, 2012 in Mifflin Court.

Her husband, Cecil G. Botsford, passed away March 31, 2011.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late John U. and Marie A. (Kraemer) Gehris.

Eleanor was a 1951 graduate of Wyomissing High School and a 1955 graduate of Kutztown University.

She worked as an elementary teacher for over 30 years in the Reading School District until her retirement in the late 1970's.

Eleanor was an avid sewer, knitter and crocheter. She made numerous baby blankets and was a member of a sewing club for several years. She enjoyed traveling and was a wonderful piano player.

She was a member of Monterey Chapel, Leola and a former member of Bible Truth Chapel, West Reading.

She is survived by her three children: Roger A. Botsford, Reading; Phillip R., husband of Lisa A. Botsford, Green Hills and Patricia M. Stilianos, Wyomissing. Also surviving are her brother, John P., widower of Mary Lou Gehris, Wyomissing; her nephew, Peter T., husband of Abby Gehris, Binghamton, NY and her niece Sharon L., wife of Thomas Lees, Barto. Her granddaughters: Jessilyn and Casey; her great-grandsons: Kraven and Chase; her great-niece, Miranda and great-nephews: Matthew, Kyle and Christopher also survive her.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A viewing will be held 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Monterey Chapel, 53 West Eby Rd., Leola, PA 17540.
