Dorothy H. (Schaeffer) Gregor

Dorothy Hazel (Schaeffer) Eckenroth Gregor, 88, went to be with the Lord, June 30, 2012 in her residence at Columbia Cottage, Spring Township.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Louis Harry Eckenroth in 1986 and her second husband William Thomas Gregor in 2009.

Born in Hamburg on August 2, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Charles Raymond Schaeffer and Anna Laura (Kallenbach) Schaeffer.

Dorothy was a 1941 graduate of Hamburg High School, where she was salutatorian of her class.

She was employed as a meat packer with Armour and Company, Reading for 35 years, retiring in 1974.

Dorothy was a member of Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, Mohnton.

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia M. (Eckenroth), wife of Jerre B. Smith, Sr. of Lower Heidelberg Township and Lynn L. (Eckenroth), wife of David H. Campbell of Spring Township.

Other survivors include four grandchildren, Jerre B. Smith, Jr., Michelle Reaser, Jonathan Evans and Jennifer Evans; three great grandchildren, Brandon Reaser, Austin Reaser and Lauren Ann Smith and a sister, Esther Rolland of Hamburg.

Dorothy was predeceased by a daughter, Sharon E. (Eckenroth) Evans who died in 2001; three brothers, Jimmy, Raymond and David Schaeffer and a sister Arlene Schaeffer.

Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Zion E.C. Church, 57 N. Church St., Mohnton, PA 19540. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service in the church. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
