Barbara A. (Seaman) Somers

Barbara A. (Seaman) Somers, 59, passed away August 1, 2012 in her Centre Township residence.

She was the loving wife of Harry L. Somers.

Born January 24, 1953 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Lewis S. and Anna M. (Lord) Seaman.

She worked for Narrow Fabric Industries as a supervisor for 26 years and later was employed by Penske in the customer service department.

Barbara loved traveling, was an avid NASCAR fan and liked all sports, especially golf and the Phillies.

She was a member of Faith Bible Baptist Church, Hamburg and enjoyed attending service and church events.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: David L. Fegley, Jr., husband of Stephanie Fegley, Fredericksburg and Teresa M. Chase, wife of Christian Chase, Mohrsville and her step-children: Teddy L., husband of Amy Somers, Tammy R. Ferguson and Trina D. Somers, all of North Carolina. Also surviving are her siblings: John J., Sr., husband of Kathy Lord, Wernersville and Shirley M., wife of Todd Gurtowski, Mohrsville and three nephews and two nieces. Five grandchildren, thirteen step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren also survive her.

Barbara was predeceased by her brother, Charles "Bootsy" Seaman in 1974.

Services will be Saturday at 8:30 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc. 3300 Kutztown Rd., Laureldale. A viewing will be Friday 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
